Thermo King and BPW strike data sharing agreement with Idem Telematics

Belgium / GermanyThermo King Europe of Zaventem, Flemish Brabant, Belgium has announced that its electrified trailer technology – jointly developed with BPW Group of Wiehl, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany – will be connected to the ‘Cargofleet 3’ digital platform, following an agreement with Idem Telematics GmbH of Ulm, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. 

Idem customers using its fleet management platform now have access to data collected from Thermo King products, including its refrigeration units and its ‘AxlePower’ energy recovery and storage system. AxlePower recovers energy from braking and supplies power to the transport refrigeration unit through the combination of an electrified BPW trailer axle and energy storage system.
