Volvo NA unveils redesigned VNL with up to 10% fuel efficiency improvement

USAVolvo Group North America Inc of Greensboro, North Carolina has unveiled a redesign of the Class 8 ‘VNL’ range of trucks for long haul and heavy-duty applications, boasting new advanced driver assistance features and improved fuel efficiency of up to 10%. 

The new VNL is powered by the latest generation of ‘D13’ engines from Volvo. Customers may choose between four power ratings (405-500hp) and three torque ratings (1,750-1,950 lbs ft). The engine is paired with Volvo’s ‘I-Shift’ transmission, an automated manual gearbox with up to 30% faster shift speeds.
