Belgium – Van Hool NV, a manufacturer of buses, coaches, and semi-trailers based in Koningshooikt, Antwerp, Belgium, has announced the appointment of Marc Zwaaneveld as Co-CEO, a role which he will share with the incumbent CEO, Filip Van Hool.
The decision to appoint Zwaaneveld – who joins the company from food processing and distribution firm Greenyard – is motivated by the company’s poor performance following the COVID-19 pandemic. The decline in demand for coaches and the higher cost of raw materials had a “major impact” on the company’s finances, which are only just beginning to recover.
