Italy – Italian industrial automation company, Comau, part of global automaker, Stellantis, headquartered in Turin, has joined the EU-funded Fastest Project*, with the role of designing the battery digitalisation strategy for the project, which aims to accelerate battery development in a more reliable, safe and durable manner. The project’s explicit goal is to “reduce the overall time and cost of battery production by at least 20%, in addition to lowering the number of physical experiments required and reducing material costs.” This will ultimately increase the competitiveness of the European battery industry. Comau will use its skills in digitalisation, process simulation and electrification to accelerate the testing and verification of automotive and stationary batteries.
