USA – A new lobby group for the expansion of charging infrastructure in the U.S. which is suited to medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles was established in Washington, DC by Daimler Truck North America, Navistar Inc, and Volvo Group North America at the end of January.

Powering America’s Commercial Transportation (PACT) claims it is a new “voice for zero-emission commercial vehicle infrastructure”. According to a press release, the lack of sufficient charging infrastructure for battery-electric medium- and heavy-duty vehicles is a “increasingly significant bottleneck” to their wider market acceptance. The consortium states that electric charging providers have focused their efforts thus far on supporting light-duty vehicles, which have different requirements than heavier ones.
