Reading Truck acquires Texan upfitter General Truck Body

USA – Reading Truck Group LLC, a subsidiary of J B Poindexter based in Reading, Pennsylvania, has announced its acquisition of commercial vehicle upfitter General Body Manufacturing Company (“General Truck Body”), expanding its footprint in south-central USA.
Founded in 1919, General Truck Body has remained a family-owned business down to the fourth generation. It upfits truck cab chassis (from brands such as Ford, GMC, Chevrolet, and Ram Trucks) with custom bodies, including service bodies, flatbeds, telescopic cranes, and bodies for emergency response applications. It is headquartered in Houston, Texas and has three locations in its home state and one in Kentucky.
