Sweden – Construction of a vehicle tyre recycling plant in Uddevalla, Sweden was launched on 13 February by a joint venture established between Scandinavian Enviro Systems AB (“Enviro”) of Gothenburg and Antin Infrastructure Partners of Paris, France, with a planned opening date of 2025.

During the initial phase of opening, the full-scale recycling plant will have a recycling capacity of approximately 35,000 tons of used tyres per annum and employ forty people. However, the joint venture facility will grow quickly over the next several years, with the aim of recycling one million metric tons of vehicle tyre material by 2030, representing a third of all end-of-life tyres in Europe.
