Hino cuts stake in JV with GAC

China / Japan - Hino Motors Ltd confirmed it is cutting its stake in GAC Hino Motors Company Ltd, its truck joint venture with Chinese state-owned automaker Guangzhou Automobile Group Company Ltd based in Guangzhou in southern China.

The Tokyo-based company decided to cut its stake in GAC Hino back in October in response to sluggish sales in the country’s vast commercial vehicle market, reflecting strong competition from local manufacturers and the accelerating transition to new energy vehicles.
