USA Wave Charging LLC based in Salt Lake City, Utah, a supplier of wave induction charging technology and subsidiary of Ideanomics Inc (a financial technology company based in New York City), has announced a purchase order worth USD 500,000, for a new proof of concept project with an unnamed U.S. retail and logistics company. The project encompasses the deployment of several electric BYD yard tractors equipped with Wave’s wireless charging (inductive) technology set to be deployed at the customer's distribution centre in Salt Lake City in Q1, 2024. Allowing for opportunity charging, the plan is that these vehicles increase the operational efficiency, safety and sustainability of the distribution centre. After a six-month trial, Ideanomics aims to scale up deployment of its wave-charging technology to multiple warehouses and distribution centres across the country.
