Paris bus fire 2022

France – After the much-publicised electric bus fires (in Paris) and subsequent removal of 149 e-buses manufactured by Bluebus SAS (part of the Bolloré Group), based in Ergué-Gabéric, from the streets of Paris in 2022, the French state-owned public transport operator (RATP), announced that these buses (149 Bluebus 5SE series) will restart operation in Paris, in mid-2025.

According to the Bolloré group, a detailed report was sent to RATP in Paris explaining the main cause of the fire and the actions being taken to rectify the problem. The Bollore Group attributed the fire to “the assembly of an electronic component which caused a short-circuit between the cells making up the battery packs.“
