Daimler Truck North America delivers the first Freightliner eCascadia to Mexico

Freightliner eCascadia in Mexico

Mexico / USA – Daimler Truck North America LLC (DTNA) of Portland, Oregon has delivered the first of two class 8 battery electric Freightliner eCascadia* trucks to Mexican logistics company, Transportes Esteban, marking the entry of this vehicle into the Mexican market. Charging infrastructure is continually being built to support additional battery electric truck deployments. DTNA’s truck manufacturing plant in Santiago TMP, Monterrey, has been designated as a new site for the second commercial vehicle charging facility in Mexico, which will be equipped with a Detroit eFill charger, boasting a charging capacity of up to 120kW. This all helps the Mexican state in the shift towards zero-emissions transportation.

Designed for short-haul routes, the Freightliner eCascadia is powered by a Detroit ePowertrain and equipped with multiple battery and drive axle options, allowing a range of either 155, 220 or 230 miles. The vehicle is also fitted with Detroit Connect eServices that features a charger management system with eRange prediction and battery health monitoring, as well as Detroit Assurance Active Brake Assist 5 as standard.
