Ashok Leyland wins tender for 552 Ultra Low Entry buses from Tamil Nadu State

Ashok Leyland's Ultra-Low Entry (ULE) diesel buses

Chennai - Ashok Leyland Ltd of Chennai has added to its bus order bank with an order for 552 Ultra-Low Entry (ULE) diesel buses (BS VI) from Tamil Nadu State Transport Undertakings (TNSTU).

The ULE bus offers a gross vehicle weight (GVW) rating of 16t and is powered by Ashok Leyland’s H-series 6-cylinder 4-valve 184 kW (246 hp) rear engine matched with an automatic (Allison) transmission. It also features disc brakes, electronically controlled front and rear air suspension with kerb level lowering to provide step-less entry to the front and middle. It also has an intelligent transportation system with CCTV, destination board reflecting vehicle location, and vehicle tracking system, all fitted as standard.
