UK bus and coach market grew 44.6% and led European electric bus segment in 2023

UK – The UK bus and coach market in 2023 grew by 44.6% to register 4,932 units, a promising level of growth which still remains below the pre-pandemic figure of 5,874 units (2019), according to statistics published by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
The best-selling segment was minibuses, which grew by 18.3% to 2,378 units in 2023. Although the single- and double-deck bus segments were smaller, they experienced a much higher rate of growth than the minibus segment. Single-deck registrations grew by 52.5% to 1,610 units, while double-deck registrations saw a meteoric increase of 173.6% to 944 units.
