Motiv electric shuttle bus passes Altoona testing

Motiv shuttle bus tested at Altoona

USAMotiv Power Systems Inc of Foster City, California has announced that its battery electric shuttle bus range has passed the Federal Transit Authority’s “Altoona” Bus Test Program, qualifying it for federal incentives and grants such as the ‘Low or No-Emission’ fund.

According to Motiv, the electric shuttle bus received an overall score of 89.1 out of 100, which it claims is the highest score ever achieved for a medium-duty electric bus tested in a 7 year / 200,000 miles or higher service-life category. The tests conducted at Altoona, Pennsylvania assess the vehicle’s maintainability, reliability, safety, performance, structural integrity and durability, noise, and emissions. EVs such as Motiv’s are also tested for range, charging, and battery efficiency.
