Webasto launches compact high voltage heaters for electric vehicles

Germany – Webasto SE of Stockdorf, Bavaria has launched a new range of high voltage heaters for electric vehicles, which are designed to take up very little installation space while heating the interior efficiently and with minimal impact on vehicle range.
Webasto has launched three products, called ‘HVH 100 Compact’, ‘HVH 100 Compact+’, and ‘HVH 120’, with slightly different specifications. The HVH 100s are very small, with dimensions of 284x200x72 in millimetres and around 7 cm high; Webasto says they are smaller than a DIN A4 sheet of paper. The HVH 120 is 4 cm longer than the HVH 100s. They weigh 2.2 and 2.5 kilograms respectively. They connect to the vehicle via a LIN bus, though the Compact+ and 120 and also connect via the CAN bus in commercial vehicles.
