FranceRenault SA and AB Volvo have launched a new joint venture, called ‘Flexis SAS’, which will develop a new electric van platform and produce electric van models at Renault’s factory in Sandouville, France from 2026.

Electric vans developed under the joint venture will be serially manufactured at Sandouville, where Renault has produced over a million mid-sized vans (‘Trafic’) since it opened ten years ago. To support this plan, EUR300m will be invested between now and 2026, and 550 new workers will be hired over the next four years. Flexis has appointed Philippe Divry of Volvo and Krishnan Sundararajan to the roles of CEO and COO respectively.
