Plastic Omnium changes name to OPmobility as it shifts to electrification

FranceCompagnie Plastic Omnium SA, an automotive supplier based in Levallois, France, has announced a change of name from “Plastic Omnium” to “OPmobility”, reflecting its increasing focus on electric vehicles.

The company says that, over the last few years, it has implemented an “ambitious strategic roadmap” towards becoming a “leading player” in sustainable and connected mobility. It is now composed of five business groups – Exteriors, C-Power, Modules, Lighting, and H2-Power – as well as a software division. Plastic Omnium’s recent progress in e-mobility has been facilitated by strategic acquisitions and joint ventures in fuel cell technology and hydrogen storage.
