ONE to collaborate with South Korean firm in establishing battery materials production in the U.S.

USA / South KoreaOur Next Energy Inc (ONE), a battery manufacturer based in Novi, Michigan, USA, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with L&F Co Ltd of Daegu, South Korea, agreeing to collaborate on the production of crucial battery components in the United States.

L&F is a longstanding producer of cathode active materials, or electrodes which form an essential part of a battery cell. Cathode active materials which L&F has worked with for electric vehicle batteries include nickel cobalt manganese (NMC), lithium cobalt oxide (LCO), and lithium manganese oxide (LMO). For ONE, L&F would supply lithium iron phosphate (LFP) materials, and it has already established a pilot line for LFP production in South Korea.
