Mahle Aftermarket launches second generation of digital workshop diagnostic tools

Technician using TechPro 2

Germany – The aftermarket division of components supplier Mahle GmbH of Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg has launched a new generation of digital equipment for vehicle diagnostics, featuring an overhauled user interface and additional functions.

‘TechPro 2’ and ‘Brain Bee Connex 2’ are digital tablets designed for workshop diagnostics which are sold under different brands but offer similar functionality. The tablets are handheld and robust for use in the workplace, guiding technicians through the diagnostic process with tutorials and relevant information. Using a new Vehicle Communication Interface – which Mahle claims is the smallest on the market and can fit inside a trouser pocket – the tablets can connect to the internet and retrieve vehicle data. With two new functions – a camera and ‘Smart Scan’ – the technician can automatically acquire the vehicle number and access fault codes read from the vehicle, such as OEM service bulletins, recall data, and repair tips.
