Volvo NA to build new heavy truck plant in Mexico

USA / MexicoVolvo Group North America Inc of Greensboro, North Carolina, USA has announced that it will open a new plant in Mexico in 2026 for the production of heavy-duty Volvo and Mack trucks, thus increasing the group’s production capacity in the Americas.

Volvo NA has not divulged the location of the newly announced plant in Mexico, but it will reportedly cover 1.7m square feet when it is opened for production in two years’ time. The new factory will be dedicated to the assembly of heavy-duty conventional trucks for the Volvo and Mack brands, including cab production.
