Sales of heavy trucks and buses in Argentina fall by 30.7 per cent in the first quarter of 2024

Argentina – Truck and bus registrations above 6 tons gvw during the first quarter of 2024 in Argentina totalled 2,477 units, a 30.7 per cent decrease on 3,574 units sold in the same period of last year.

In addition to the many economic difficulties that still persist in the country, such as slowness in bank loan approvals, high interest rates and high inflation, Argentina now has a new president, Javier Milei, with new strategies, which will take time to implement before they have an impact. As a result, Argentinians’ priorities of procuring food and medicines and less so on procuring public transport and stimulating demand for freight transport.
