Thailand / China - China’s leading new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer, Shenzhen-based BYD Company Ltd, has signed a licensing agreement allowing its Thai importer and distributor, Rêver Automotive Thailand Company Ltd to assemble battery-powered commercial vehicles in the South-east Asian country, according to local reports.

Rêver Bus and Truck Company Ltd, a subsidiary of BYD’s Bangkok-based distributor, plans to build a local plant dedicated to the assembly of electric trucks and buses using chassis’ and other advanced components including iron-phosphate batteries and six-in-one motor controllers supplied by its Chinese partner - while producing interior and exterior body parts locally. A timescale for the construction of the plant was not revealed.
