USAPeterbilt Motors Company, a subsidiary of Paccar Inc based in Denton, Texas, is introducing new digital mirror systems to replace conventional mirrors in its heavy-duty Model 579 and 567 truck ranges.

Peterbilt’s new system, called ‘Digital Vision System-Mirrors’ (DVS-M), employs three high dynamic range or HDR cameras on the driver and passenger sides of the cab. These feed visuals to two high-definition monitors inside the cab, mounted on the A-pillars on either side. The screen on the driver side measures 12.3 inches, while the screen on the passenger side measures 15 inches. The driver can cycle between different modes, including infrared night vision, panoramic displays, and a vision mode designed for poor visibility conditions due to the weather.
