Valeo to merge powertrain and thermal management business into new e-mobility division

France – Automotive components supplier Valeo SA of Paris, France has announced the creation of a new business division, ‘Valeo Power’, which it says will focus on products for electric vehicles.
The new Power division will gradually take over the activities and product portfolios of the existing Powertrain Systems and Thermal Systems divisions. By merging the two in the new division, Valeo aims to better tailor its products for the electric vehicle market and to improve its financial performance with a “leaner” organisation. Xavier Dupont has been named as CEO of the new division; he has led the powertrain business since 2015 and became acting President of the thermal systems business last year.
