UKULEMCo Ltd, a hydrogen retrofit firm based in Liverpool, UK, has received an extra GBP5m in investments which it will use to fund its research and development activities into low- and zero-emission drivelines for medium- and heavy-duty fleets.

The funding round was led by Mercia Ventures and included private and public funding sources, including Equity Gap (private) and Scottish Enterprise (a non-departmental public body in Scotland). The company also received money from the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund, which invests UK and European funds into North West England, Yorkshire, the Humber region and the Tees Valley region.
