Ireland – The Irish Government, through the Transport Infrastructure Ireland department, has started a zero-emission truck grant scheme to promote the sale of zero-emission trucks, allowing buyers to offset the price increase of switching from diesel ICE-powered vehicles to zero-emission trucks.  Launched earlier this year, Irish operators can claim grants that offset the price difference between the diesel trucks and their zero-emission equivalents. This applies to new trucks only. The grant money depends on the powertrain or fuel type of the vehicle and the number of vehicles that the applicant wants to purchase, with the maximum amount on offer to any one company capped at EUR 500,000. Eligible vehicles include battery electric, hydrogen fuel cell, plug-in hybrid.
