Japan / Germany - Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), Daimler Truck AG’s truck-making subsidiary headquartered in Kawasaki City in Japan’s Kanagawa prefecture, in April launched a training programme developed by the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry targeted at young aftermarket mechanics.
MFTBC launched the German-developed “Vocational Training (VT) Automotive Mechatronics” programme with the aim of training aftersales mechanics and new college graduates in Japan, as it looks to ensure the availability of enough skilled mechanics and other technical staff for its aftermarket operations amid a “severe labour shortage” in the country.
