Shyft Group acquires Independent Truck Upfitters

USA – At the end of July, The Shyft Group Inc of Novi, Michigan acquired Independent Truck Upfitters, expanding the range and reach of its specialty vehicles offering in the Midwest.

Independent Truck Upfitters modifies pickup trucks for utility, construction, and other commercial applications, installing bodies, cranes, liftgates, stake-beds, and various aftermarket accessories. Shyft says the acquisition will allow it to enter new markets and “capture a greater share of higher class-sized products”, particularly larger vehicles and complex service body upfitting.
