Bendix sells fleet telematics business to Rand McNally

USA – Avon, Ohio-based Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC has finalised the sale of its fleet telematics/connectivity business SafetyDirect, to Chicago-based capital portfolio management firm Rand McNally for an undisclosed fee. According to Bendix, the company will still offer SafetyDirect integration with Bendix ADAS and brake systems, as connectivity remains an essential part of its strategy for advanced driver assistance system development. Importantly, Bendix will receive an equity stake in SafetyDirect operations and hold an observer seat on the Rand McNally Board of Directors.
