Thomas Built Buses launches revamped Type D school bus

The Saf-T-Liner HDX2 by Thomas Built Buses

USAThomas Built Buses Inc, a subsidiary of Daimler Truck North America based in High Point, North Carolina, has launched a revamped Type D school bus model, featuring parts and design cues taken from its Type C school bus line.

The ‘Saf-T-Liner HDX2’ is a redesign of the ‘HDX’ featuring several differences from its predecessor. The crucial change is the location of its production: Thomas Built Buses has announced that its new Type D buses will now be produced in Archdale, North Carolina rather than at High Point. At the Archdale facility, it already produces its ‘Saf-T-Liner C2’ buses in series.
