Knorr-Bremse sells GT Emissions Systems

Knorr-Bremse AG

Germany – In August 2024, commercial vehicle brake and components manufacturer, Knorr-Bremse AG, based in Munich, Germany, announced that they have sold its subsidiary GT Emissions Systems, to Rcapital Partners (a UK-based private equity firm) for an undisclosed fee. The deal is expected to be finalised in Q4 2024. GT Emissions Systems, based in Peterlee (UK), produces emission control systems for diesel engines used in both on-highway and off-highway vehicles, including components like exhaust throttle and exhaust gas recirculation valves.

This sale is part of Knorr-Bremse's Boost 2026 strategy, aimed at optimising its portfolio and focusing more on its core competencies. The company recently sold its majority stake in Kiepe Electric GmbH, a specialist in electric traction equipment.
