Netherlands – Paints and performance coatings manufacturer Akzo Nobel N.V. (AkzoNobel) based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, has launched a new powder coating specifically designed for EV batteries, improving electrical protection through better thermal management, which is crucial for maintaining optimal performance and safety. By offering enhanced insulation properties, these coatings contribute to improved heat dissipation and temperature control within battery packs, which is critical for avoiding overheating or inefficiency. Furthermore, this one-spray technology provides resistance against thermal shock, water immersion and chemicals. This product will serve the growing global demand for EV batteries. Available in China, the new technology is also suitable for battery system parts such as cooling plates, side plates and battery covers.
