ADL delivers bespoke Enviro200 midibuses to Channel Tunnel operator

Alexander Dennis Enviro200 for LeShuttle

UK – Last month Alexander Dennis Ltd (ADL) of Larbert, UK, delivered a batch of six customised Enviro200 midibuses to LeShuttle, the operator of the Channel Tunnel. These 8.9-meter-long buses have been specially modified by the AD24 workshop in Harlow to enhance functionality, with more standing room and an additional door on the driver’s side for flexible boarding. This design allows for efficient driver pick-ups and drop-offs from both sides.

LeShuttle, operated by Getlink, manages the shuttle service through the Channel Tunnel, transporting vehicles and passengers between Folkestone (UK) and Calais (France). The shuttle service includes freight and passenger transport, with dedicated sections for heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) and cars. Through this purchase, LeShuttle has enhanced its operations as these midibuses will be used to transfer HGV drivers between their trucks and the terminal platforms. The service is critical for maintaining smooth logistics and efficient freight movement through the Channel Tunnel.
