IAA Transportation 2024: Schmitz launches new TRU with 5% fuel reduction

Germany – At IAA Transportation 2024, held between 17-22 September in Hanover, Germany, Schmitz Cargobull AG of Horstmar, North Rhine-Westphalia launched a new transport refrigeration system for trailers, boasting a higher level of energy efficiency compared to the best of Schmitz’s existing range of TRUs.
The ‘S.CU dc85’ is the latest model in Schmitz’s range of diesel-powered refrigeration units which were introduced in 2007. It is intended to replace the company’s current “top” model, the ‘S.CU 2.0’. Equipped with a new common-rail diesel engine which has a higher speed operating range, the dc85 offers better performance than the 2.0. Compared to the 2.0 ‘Performance’ model, the dc85 consumes up to 5% less fuel.
