IAA Transportation 2024: Microvast presents new battery technologies and passport app

Germany – At IAA Transportation 2024, held between 17-22 September in Hanover, Germany, Microvast Holdings Inc of Stafford, Texas, USA presented its latest battery technologies, including its new silicon-based cells and a new battery management system.

At its stand, Microvast showcased the third generation of its lightweight battery pack, the ‘MV-I’. Designed to be installed on the roof, in the engine bay, or between/either side of the chassis rails, the MV-I now boasts an energy density of 200 Watt-hours per kilogram (compared to 180Wh/kg in the previous generation). The integrated battery management system is now in its fifth generation of development, with cybersecurity that complies with the ISO/SAE 21434:2021 standard.
