Germany / Turkey – At the 2024 IAA Transportation event in Hanover last month, Turkish bus manufacturer, Karsan Otomotiv Sanayii ve Tic. A.Ş based in Bursa announced a partnership with Toyota Motor Europe NV/SA to develop hydrogen-powered buses. Building on its hydrogen innovations since 2022, Karsan plans to launch its first hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (the e-ATA Hydrogen) in 2025. These vehicles will be equipped with Toyota’s state-of-the-art 85 kW fuel cell modules, providing significant power and range. The collaboration is part of both companies' efforts to push for clean and sustainable public transportation solutions, particularly through hydrogen technology. This initiative reflects Karsan's continued innovation in green mobility, following their earlier ventures into electric vehicles.

Karsan CEO, Okan Baş, highlighted the company's commitment to pushing forward in advanced mobility technologies. He expressed pride in partnering with Toyota, a leader in hydrogen technology with over 30 years of experience. The collaboration aligns with Karsan’s vision of being "One Step Ahead in the Future of Mobility," aiming to provide reliable, high-performance solutions in the hydrogen sector. This collaboration strengthens Karsan’s portfolio of environmentally friendly solutions, marking a major milestone in the company’s expansion in hydrogen-based technologies.
