Volvo NA launches production of second-generation VNL trucks

USA – Volvo Group North America Inc of Greensboro, North Carolina announced the official launch of series production of the redesigned ‘VNL’ heavy-duty truck range on 3 October at its New River Valley plant in Dublin, Virginia.
The production launch was preceded by a series of events at the company’s customer centre in Dublin over the summer which were attended by more than 1,800 customers. An initial production run of 400 models is now being delivered to dealerships across North America, including day cab and sleeper models. Volvo NA said that the launch of series production “also serves as a christening” of its new cab plant, opened as part of a USD400m investment by the parent Volvo Group in North America.
