MFTBC advances parts logistics management with digitalisation

Japan - August saw Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), headquartered in Kawasaki City in Japan’s Kanagawa prefecture, launch of its ‘Supply Chain Control Tower’ project aimed at improving efficiency of inbound parts logistics management to its factories through digitalisation.

The company said the project aims to not only automate the ordering processes but also to monitor shipments and estimate, in real time, the arrival of components at assembly plants across Japan. The company says that a typical truck or bus is made up of to 10,000 individual components, shipped in daily to MFTBC’s production facilities from hundreds of domestic and overseas suppliers.
