IAA Transportation 2024: Michelin launches two new truck tyres

Germany – At IAA Transportation 2024, held between 17-22 September in Hanover, Germany, the Michelin Group of Clermont-Ferrand, France launched two new truck tyres for long-haul and regional transport, boasting improvements in fuel economy and lateral grip.

The ‘Michelin X Line Energy 3’ is a tyre for steer and drive axles which is designed for high-volume transport applications over long distances. It comes in two sizes: 315/60 R 22.5 (‘Z3’) and 295/60 R 22.5 (‘D3’). According to Michelin, the new X Line tyre cuts fuel consumption by up to 0.62 litres per 100 kilometres, against the industry average.1 The tyre’s lateral grip is also improved by 4.42%2 when new and 2.02% when worn at 33% tread depth.
