IAA Transportation 2024: Van Hool brand will be kept alive, says GRW

Germany – At IAA Transportation 2024, held between 17-22 September in Hanover, Germany, South African firm GRW Tankers and Trailers announced its intention to keep the Van Hool brand going through manufacturing investments and a new product strategy.

CEO Gerhard van der Merwe said that GRW acquired the ‘Industrial Vehicles’ division of Van Hool through a Belgian holding company which it set up, called ‘GRW Industrial Vehicles BV’. The company restarted production of tankers at the Van Hool factory in Koningshooikt on 29 April; since then, it has delivered 273 trailers to customers. The first orders were completed with a “limited workforce”, but there are now 200 employees working on the production line.
