Thailand / Sweden - Scania Siam Ltd, the Bangkok-based distributor of Scania commercial vehicles in Thailand, reported strong demand for its new Euro V buses in the country this year – following the Thai government introduced Euro V fuel standards in January.

Scania Siam’s national sales manager, Prot Chotinant, told local reporters that demand from public bus operators has been particularly strong, accounting for roughly 70% of the company’s bus sales since the new models were launched in March - without disclosing sales volumes. Compared with Euro IV, Euro V vehicles emit far less sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxide and particulate matter.
