Isuzu strengthens partnership with Applied Intuition to accelerate autonomous trucks

Japan / USA - Isuzu Motors Ltd, headquartered in Yokohama in Japan’s Kanagawa prefecture, and US firm Applied Intuition Inc, based in Mountain View in California’s Silicon Valley, have signed (August 2024) a Strategic Partnership Agreement to jointly develop Level 4 autonomous commercial trucks.

In a statement, Isuzu said the two companies, “Plan to accelerate joint development of Level 4 autonomous trucks based on a partnership strategy that spans five years. By leveraging Silicon Valley-based Applied Intuition’s advanced technologies, Isuzu will expedite the launch of its autonomous driving business - taking a leading position in addressing 2024 workstyle reform legislation in Japan and other challenges facing the logistics industry.”
