Hino to close Shanghai-based majority-owned ICE engine JV

China / Japan - Japan’s Hino Motors Ltd, headquartered in Tokyo, said it held a board meeting on 13th September 2024 in which it agreed to close the company’s Shanghai Hino Engine Company Ltd majority-owned joint venture after more than 20 years of operation.

Shanghai Hino Engine Co Ltd, established in 2003, is focused on manufacturing and selling diesel engines for commercial vehicles and construction machinery for the Chinese market. It is 70%-owned by Hino Motors and 30% by Guangzhou Automobile Group Company Ltd.
