IAA Transportation 2024: Carrier Transicold Europe launches biofuel-compatible TRU

The Vector HE 19 by Carrier Transicold Europe

Germany – At IAA Transportation 2024, held between 17-22 September in Hanover, Germany, Carrier Transicold Europe of Rueil-Malmaison, France launched a new biofuel-compatible trailer refrigeration unit which boasts a potential carbon emissions reduction of 84% compared to a standard diesel unit.

The ‘HE 19’ is the latest model in Carrier Transicold’s ‘Vector’ series of TRUs and is claimed to be the company’s most sustainable product yet. It is compatible with biofuels such as hydrotreated vegetable oils (HVO) and ‘B100’ biodiesel, which are made from recycled fats. Moreover, the Vector HE 19 uses an unspecified new refrigerant which Carrier Transicold claims will reduce CO2 emissions by up to 9 times compared with the standard R452A refrigerant.
