USA / Turkey – As part of its North American expansion, Turkish bus manufacturer Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi ve Tic AŞ (Karsan) of Bursa, announced it had delivered 14 Karsan e-JEST electric minibuses in Santa Maria, California. This is part of a pilot microtransit project which aims to offer a more sustainable, low-emission public transport option while enhancing accessibility for Santa Maria's residents​. These buses are designed for flexibility and manoeuvrability, making them ideal for navigating narrow streets and areas that regular fixed-route buses can't reach. Karsan works with leading Canadian distributor, Damera, which took on the distribution responsibilities of product in the USA in 2023 - Karsan extends its footprint in the North American market.

The e-Jest has a 125-kW drive with up to 290 Nm of torque and is available with a choice of 44 or 88 kWh battery capacity, the latter sufficient for up to 210 kilometres. The eight-metre e-Atak can be equipped with up to five battery packs of 44 kWh each. The 220-kWh maximum configuration provides a range of 300kms.
