ZF opens high-voltage test and validation lab at British R&D facility

ZF's new HV Test & Validation Laboratory in Solihull, England

Germany / UKZF Friedrichshafen AG, a vehicle systems supplier based in Friedrichshafen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, has announced the opening of a new facility at its research and development site in Solihull, UK, built to test and validate high-voltage electric vehicle architectures.

The new ‘HV (i.e., high voltage) Test & Validation Laboratory’ is already accredited to national and international standards for testing electric vehicles with architectures rated at 800 volts. ZF’s Commercial Vehicle Solutions has used the facility to test fuel cell air compressors, and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers is currently using the site for high-voltage training.
