DTNA begins electrifying its parts distribution network in the U.S.

USA Daimler Truck North America LLC (DTNA) of Portland, Oregon (a subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG) announced it has launched its first electric aftermarket route in the U.S. by integrating a Freightliner eCascadia semi-truck into its parts distribution network in Phoenix, Arizona, in an attempt to further decarbonise its logistics operations. The e-truck will be part of the U.S. logistics company JB Hunt’s fleet, contracted by DTNA to handle its aftermarket logistics services. The truck will deliver parts from the Phoenix warehouse to multiple dealers along a 100-mile (160 km) route, marking the first fully dedicated DTNA e-truck route. DTNA installed a ‘Detroit eFill’ electric charging station at the Phoenix parts warehouse to support this operation. DTNA is planning to electrify other routes located in the Pacific Northwest, North Carolina and Mexico.
