UK Leyland Trucks Ltd (owned by Paccar) in Lancashire, has celebrated the production of its 125,000th DAF HGV. The milestone vehicle was a DAF XD 340 FAR 6x2 rigid with a lifting rear axle handed over to UK customer Copart. The first DAF model produced at the Leyland facility began with the CF Series. The facility now produces the entire new generation DAF range including the XD, XF, XG and XG+ models. The Lancashire facility is responsible for manufacturing almost all of the DAF trucks sold in the UK and Ireland, with 40% of all trucks produced exported overseas.
