Leyland’s Lancashire operations now produces the entire new generation DAF range, including the XD, XF, XG and XG+ models. The facility is responsible for manufacturing almost all of the DAF trucks sold in the UK and Ireland, with some 40% of all trucks produced exported overseas.

Production of the XB will replace the LF at Leyland Trucks in Leyland, UK.

The event was designed to demonstrate the vehicle’s capabilities.

DAF Trucks Ltd has entered the UK’s Capital Cities Challenge EV Rally, showcasing its 19-tonne LF Electric truck across a five-day 1000-mile driving event, designed to test both the vehicle as well as the necessary charging infrastructure that will be utilised.
