Belgium / Italy – At the European Hydrogen Week late last year in Brussels (18 to 21 November 2024), Iveco Bus (a brand of the Iveco Group NV) based in Turin announced boldly that it is actively pursuing hydrogen technology as a key component of its zero-emission mobility strategy. In collaboration with Hyundai Motor Company, the company launched the E-WAY H2, a 12-metre hydrogen fuel cell electric city bus, which first debuted at Busworld Europe in 2023. This model features a Hyundai fuel cell system, four hydrogen tanks storing 7.8 kg of hydrogen, and a 69 kWh battery pack from FPT Industrial, providing a range of up to 450 kilometres under normal operating conditions. Iveco said that the first orders will be delivered in the second half of the year, with 12 vehicles set to be delivered to Cannes, France. The E-WAY H2 has received recognition for its performance and innovation, earning the "Best Hydrogen Vehicle" award at Spain's Neutral Transport Innovation Awards in 2024.
